2008 National Cross Country Championships The 2008 National Cross Country Championships were held this year at Alton Towers and organised by the local club Staffordshire Moorlands AC under the auspices of the Midlands Territory.
The Association would like to thank Staffordshire Moorlands AC for all their hard work in organising the course and infrastructure, Alton Towers for their help and support and of course our sponsors Saucony.
The course proved to be a real test of cross country running, with the big hill at the far end of the course creating a great spectacle for the thousands of spectators around the course cheering the athletes on.
Congratulations to all our Champions, be they individual or teams, and especially to Liz Yelling who took her fourth National title as a senior.
Finally we thank all the Officials and Marshals, without whose voluntary service we could not promote such a large and successful event. We also of course give a huge thank you to all those who participated and supported to make the Championships so successful. We hope to see you all again next year in London at Parliament Hill Fields.
