NATIONALS UPDATE 2: WEATHER AND PARKING

Please note this update from Nottingham City Council:

Due to the effects of both Storm Ciara and Storm Dennis the ground at Wollaton Park is saturated. Whilst this may make for exciting cross country conditions, it obviously isn’t ideal for car and coach parking. As a result the Council have had to put contingency plans in place to ensure that the Park can accommodate the expected 2,500 cars and 50 coaches as we are unable to offer parking on grassed areas as planned.

Car parking is now being provided on all available hard standing areas at the site, but this is limited. Additional off site car parks have also been sourced should hard standing car park capacity be exceeded.

The relocation of car parking will displace the planned parking area set aside for coach parking, so the following arrangements have been made for coach parking (over 13 seats), as well as drop off and pick up. Minibuses under 13 seats can park with cars.

Drop off

Please arrange for your coach driver to drop off as planned at Wollaton Park NG8 2AD located off Wollaton Road. Please pull into the park grounds and do not drop off directly onto Wollaton Road. Coaches will be able to drop off passengers in a designated hard standing area within the site, but won’t be able to park.

Coach parking

We have had to relocate coach parking off site. This is available at Glaisdale Drive and on the adjoining streets of Glaisdale Parkway and Hall View Drive. Postcode NG8 4GD. This is located 1.8 miles away from Wollaton Park.

This is on street parking, so unfortunately there are no driver facilities in this location. There are no parking restrictions on the above streets and consent, however we request that drivers park on the other side of the street away from any residential properties and also keep access clear to industrial properties.

Pick up

At the end of the event (or when all of your group have completed their race), please nominate a group member to call the coach driver to advise them that your group are ready to be picked up. The coach driver should then make their way back to Wollaton Park NG8 2AD. Once again, please pull into the park grounds where a hard standing pick-up area is available and do not pick up directly on Wollaton Road.

Please do not park on the residential streets surrounding streets in and around Wollaton Park, there are parking restrictions in place and these will be enforced.

Please follow the direction of the car parking marshals on site who are here to help you.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and we look forward to welcoming you to Wollaton Park tomorrow.

All pre-booked coaches have also been sent this information directly.

We have secured two overflow car parks and there is a plan in place when and if these are needed.
