Race Report: Venta de Banos 2017

The visit to Venta de Banos in Northern Spain for the International Cross Country Event saw several of the England Athletes in good form. Most of the Athletes selected had narrowly missed out on the European Championships the week before. Best performance of the day came from Nick Goolab with fine 3rd behind Selemon Bareja

Record Entries for the Relays

Another Record Entry for the Saucony English Cross Country Relays on the 4th November. For the 12th consecutive year over 1000 teams have entered this years championships at Berry Hill Park, Mansfield with new record of 1273 teams being achieved. Along with a new best overall total, there 5 new records among the 10 races

Timetable changed for the Nationals and Relays 2017

The ECCA Championship Committee has met and decided to change the Timetable of Events for this Season’s Championships. The Timetable for the Relays at Berry Hill Park, Mansfield on Saturday 4th November is now: 11.00am          Junior Womens (3×2.5K)  11.09am         Under 17 Women (3×2.5K) 11.40am         Under 13 Boys (3x2K) 12.05pm         Under 13 Girls (3x2K) 12.30pm        Junior Men (3x3k) 12.50pm  

Alan Brent

The English Cross Country Association is sad to report that Alan Brent has passed away aged 98. Alan was President of the English Cross Country Union in 1989 and worked hard for the ECCU as an Official and Course planner. He was also President of the South of Thames Cross Country Association in 1966 and

New President of the ECCA

At the annual ECCA meeting held at Derby, Richard Inchley was made President for the 2017/18 season. He received his Chain of Office from outgoing President Basil Heatley who said he had thoroughly enjoyed his year in the role. Richard, who has been the ECCA Treasurer for 11 years and is current Chairman of Bedfordshire,

10th Annual Open Meeting – Information

The 10th Annual Open Meeting of the ECCA will be held at the SMART ASTON COURT HOTEL, MIDLAND RD, Derby DE1 2SL on Saturday 20th May 2017 at 12 noon. The Conference Room is on the ground floor of the Hotel, tea and coffee will be available from 11:30. All Clubs affiliated to England Athletics
