National XC Press Release

The English Cross Country Association is pleased to announce that the 2014 Saucony English National Cross Country Championships will be staged at Wollaton Park, Nottingham on Saturday 22nd February. The Championships will be stage in Co-operation with The Midlands Cross Country Association and Nottingham City Council. There will also be big input into the event by Notts AC and their Chairman Mick Robinson has led the negotiations to promote the event at this well known venue.

For many years the UKCAU Inter Counties Championships was held at Wollaton Park before moving to Cofton Park, Birmingham. However a completely new course will be used for the Saucony English CC Championships and the imposing Wollaton Hall will still be the back drop to the Course. Preparations are well in hand for the event and the new Course has been viewed by members of the ECCA Committee.

Mick Robinson who is also Chairman of the Midlands Cross Country Association said “He was delighted that the Championships were coming to Wollaton Park, he had hoped the event could be staged at this venue for sometime and was sure it would be a memorable occasion”.

With the 2015 event returning to Parliament Hill and negotiations for a venue in the North in 2016 well advanced, the Saucony English National Cross Country Championships are well set for the next three year cycle of venues around England.
